Football Queensland Skills Acquisition Program 2018

The Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) is part of Football Federation Australia’s ‘Ecosystem’. Its objective is to provide a quality training and games environment for players that want more than just participation.

Eastern Suburbs is FC very proud to have acquired a license to run programs for girls and boys in 2018. Led by Head Coach Tim Dunn, all coaches are accredited in accordance with the conditions of obtaining the SAP licence.

Regarded as the foundation of player development, the Skills Acquisition Phase plays a key role in the future generation of players by focusing on the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Curriculum’s four core skills:

  • First touch
  • 1 v 1s
  • Running with the ball
  • Striking the ball

SAP will provide young players with an opportunity to experience a positive and enhanced football experience through exposure to a fun and challenging environment, while also preparing them for the future technical and tactical challenges of the game.
