It is with deep sadness that Eastern Suburbs FC advises of the passing of former player, President and Life Member Ross Melville OAM.
The Melville family’s contribution to Easts and football in Queensland is as substantial as it is lengthy, and very few sporting organisations in Australia have been as fortunate to have benefitted from the involvement of such a visionary as Ross. The club’s sound financial position and overall durability are a direct result of his outstanding efforts over his lifetime. In addition, tens of thousands of Queenslanders have been the beneficiary of Ross’s not for profit work with Southside Community Group and the YMCA.
A true great of Queensland football, we pass our most heartfelt condolences on to Carol, Alan, Peter and their families.
